Two questions,

Anything that amplifies can produce harmonics, transistors, tubes, whatever. There tends to be less harmonics produced by tubes because they are usually 'suppressed' as a matter of course, considered 'normal', you know?
'Lumping' harmonics into the 'SWR catagory' is true as far as it goes, but sometimes not the best way of thinking about it. All 'SWR' isn't always harmonically related/produced. And sometimes harmonics don't show up as SWR. Unfortunately, the typical SWR meter is sort of a dumb 'animule', can't tell one thing from another. (I'd make a crack about them being 'blond', but that might not be such a good comparison... or I'm just chicken... and I like blonds anyway!)
Yeah, I know this is being 'picky', but sometimes that's a good thing.
