Someone gave this radio awhile back. Battery is dead as a door nail, but a Baofeng battery slips right in and works just fine. The radio is the 220/440 mhz version.

So, I thought I would see if I could program it via the cable. I'm using the same cable as the Baofeng UV-5R, and it worked before when I programmed the TYT and recently worked on reprogramming a UV-5R as well.

Of course, Win10 has a hissy fit over the cable not having a genuine Prolific chip in it, so I used a driver for the comm port that worked with the Baofeng with no issues.

CHIRP doesn't work for this model of the radio, so I downloaded and security scanned the 'F9' programming software directly from the TYT website:
https://www.tyt888.com/?mod=download

But for some unknown reason, it cannot communicate with the radio when I try to get it to read.
Is there a special driver for this radio that I am unaware of? Or does the radio have to be in any particular mode? Do I really need to do anything different? Someone had the same issue that I have?
Thanks in advance

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
