Hello all

I am looking to upgrade my microphone on my base station. The radio is a Comanche Warrior. I prefer a desk mic, but a hand mic would be fine also. Looked at the Sadelta CM-40 desk mic with speech compresion and a Syncron 7000RB with compression also. OK do these mics really have speech compresion or is it just a gimmick? Was thinking about the Asatic 575 hand mic. I want any and all input on this subject as I have been burned before on a mic purchase. My radio has a lot of audio so I don't nesacasarily need a power mic. I just want something that has excellent tone and voice replication. Please help.

Turner +3 Desk mic. has compression and can usually find them for $15-$30 depending on condition. AND if you don't like it it's EASY to sell. I don't care for them myself...that's why I have one for EVERY radio I own ! OOOPS!! Both the 1104c and +3 will be REALLY bassy on that Warrior. Hunt around for a Shure 444D desk mike on ebay. They run around $40, have dual elements for low or high impedance and non amplified. I do believe after running some old sure mikes that will be my next mike purchase.

the astatic 1104c seems to be the choice if you have a deep voice. i run both the +3b and the 1104c . but i'm with hook a stock mic with a blanket and a garbage bag duct taped around it would make you sound about normal. HI HI HEHEE

Ok everyone I had an awesome mic all along and didn't realize it. My wifes grandad gave me all of his old radio stuff before he passed on and in it was the most BUTT ugly mic you ever saw. I was cruising around on ebay and lo and behold there was one for sale, an old Turner power mic with built in compression. I immeadiatly went to my old box of junk and there it was all lonely and needing a radio. Took it apart and made some repairs, put an old 7 volt battery in it and made a little adapter plug to hook it to my base and PRESTO, this mic is AWESOME. Hook it will take 5 blankets and 2 rolls of duct tape now LOL. What a difference, if anyone has any of these old mics they want to get rid of I will gladly buy them. Now do these mics come in a desk version? If you have seen one you will never forget it these mics are BUTT UGLY, but man are they one talking machine. So now all I need to figure out is how to hook it to my 9 volt wall source, have to make a voltage drop ciciut.

Hook, the mic is a M+3/U, and yes it is a very good quality audio. I did pick up a Shure 444 desk mic up on ebay for $15.50. Seemed like a good deal so I couldn't pass that one up. Will have to try it out and see which one wins the full time job of keeping me on the air. You fellas in Texas look out because summertime is fast approaching and all you will be hearing is CDX-765 LOUD AND PROUD, from radio free Rockies. LOL
