I have had a post on the tech section of cb with no help so here we go .....

What would cause distortion with this talkback board. I have tried everything I know to do with grounds. I tried another module and it is doing the same thing so I must have something wrong. I have gone over and over the instructions but no good.
there is a post somewhere about a resistor you can cut for more gain from the board....cant remember where I read it.

What voltage does this board like.....I have it getting its power from the on off volume switch for full power. dunno

would someone please post.....thanks.

I have found the simple resistor mod for talkback on the cobras and unidens is the way to go......the utb 1' s I have I will use in ten meter radios......just my opinion.

The voltage should be 13-14 volts DC. What kind of radio are you hooking this into? Generally when there is a distortion heard it is due to poor ground. I would try hooking the ground somewhere else and see what happens..

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
