V J EXSPANPER 5?

I'd like to know if anyone knows what a v j expander 5 is? It's installed on the back of a Robyn 123 b. I'm fairly sure it adds more than the 23 channels to the 123b. Which is a stock 23 channel radio. Does anyone know what this item is exactly? Thanks
 

Never heard of a VJ Expander 5 but I would imagine that it adds extra channels. Back in the old 23 channel pre-PLL days it was common to add an external box that had a rotary switch that could select different crystals that would provide additional frequencies.

Get ahold of a frequency counter and a dummy load and just start stepping through the different positions and see what you come up with.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
