Does anyone know what the avg output should be on the varmint 600 with good tubes.I am only getting 250-300 dead key with 4 in not much swing.people on the other end say its clipping ,or breaking up on the other end, sometimes relay chatters but they hear it even when I dont hear it.I just had it in for repair and came back like that, shouldnt he see this on a scope?

try lowering the deadkey .if you are reading average watts thats too high a deadkey .try deadkeying 100 watts and let it swing .

when tuning a tube amp you want to tweak the tune and load controls until you achieve the best swing out the box ,not the highest deadkey ,the highest swing .
when you reach the best swing your pretty much done .if after doing this the deadkey is still too high(doubtful if done correctly)bring it down some with the load knob and retest.

good luck .
