What would be the best coax?

[CB COBRA 148 GTL SSB AND]

I own a 1991 Ford Escort GT and I ordered a new Wilson 5000 roof mount and I was wondering what would be the best coax to use? I’m using a Cobra 148 GTL with SSB. The antenna will be positioned in the middle of my roof. If you have any other tips and tricks it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

The "best" in a small package? My vote would have to be RG-142b or RG-400. They're both pretty much the same...mil spec C-17 coax. Double shielded, super low loss for HF (low loss on VHF, also), teflon coated, will handle a bazillion watts, being slammed in the door 5 million times.....I like the stuff.

It's just my opinion but, LMR-240 would be my first choice.

The forum has migrated a couple times from the old Ezboard that we had years ago, some of the very early posts defaulted to 1969.
You will also see old EzBoard images that are broken, threads that have duplicated posts and a few other things in threads that are many years old from the old forums.
It happens.
