wasn't a ground plane. I took a 5' section of that stackable antenna mast and pounded it into the dirt until only 6" was sticking out and clamped a big stick to it.
good for local, great for skip, not so good for the next door neighbors answering machine.
I tried getting it out when I moved using a 5 ton floor jack, but no luck. I ended up pounding it the rest of the way in.
