I was wondering how the wilson 1000/5000 mag mount antennas radiate a pattern in the coil if its got all that plastic covering it up?? I was thinking that it must just tx most of the signal coming from the stinger. can someone enlighten me??

I do believe there is a loss there concerning any coil if I understand that correctly.

Any coil CAUSES loss but the RF radiated from it is not hindered by any plastic covering. The losses are strictly ohmic.

10-4 QRN, thanks for the info. I appreciate it. Now I dont feel as if this antenna is as inefficient. I figured the plaster hindered the rf.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
