If I may suggest,a Ranger 2950 DX I believe would fit the bill,I have used one and they are Rock Solid on SSB hands down in my opinion,I have one myself, great radio,hope this helps!!

I'm considering parting with my very young at-5555N if that's anything you might want. It's definitely a superb ssb performer and as stable as they come these days. Just a thought.
