I just wanted to say thanks to X-Tronic and share my experiences with the folks here. When I first got my reflow station (the 5040-XTS-XR3), around 2018, I had noticed in the manual that the unit was to come with replacement elements. It did not. I called and asked about them and was told they no longer do that but would send me them anyhow. They did, and to this day, I have not needed them.
I just recently purchased their 8020-XTS tweezers/iron station. When I took the tip off the iron, the element ceramic was broken. I emailed them, and this time,instead of a heating element, they sent a whole new iron. I decided to purchase extra elements for all of them anyhow, but I thought them sending me a new iron was really cool.
Their customer service is top notch. Their stuff is of really good quality. I don't know how many times I've smashed the cord in my metal desk drawer and it still works. The cable jacket is silicone I think, hot iron and kink proof. If you wanna show off, get Weller, but if you want a decent product at a decent price, consider X-Tronic!
Edit: I think mine heats up faster than the weller at work too.
