400 MHz built-in IF DSP

Hey, dunno if you've tried any of the new IF DSP rigs, but they are amazing.

Beats the heck out of being limited with mechanical filters.

A bunch of DSPs operate with a 400Mhz IF too.

Yaesu will email you the mod for MARS/CAP with proof of license. I haven't seen it published yet but there definitely is one and it works. A few MARS ops have already opened them up.

Here's what I have.... Good luck with the mod; this seems to be a really nice transceiver! 8)

FT – 450 Wideband Transceive Modification

1. Disconnect the power form the radio.

2. Remove the front panel & the large RF shield to access the CONTROL PCB.

3. Locate the solder jumper JP4002.

4. Remove the solder and open the contacts.

5. Reassemble the radio and power cord.

******************THEN*************************

1. Press and hold [ATT/IPO], [NB], and [AGC] keys, while turning the radio on. "SMADJO" will be displayed on the LCD as the memory address at the lower right side of the display.

2. Rotate the [DSP/SEL] knob CCW to show "TYPE" at the memory address on the display.

3. Briefly, press the [F] key, and confirm the "F" icon lights. While the "F" icon is displayed, press the [NB] key. "t" will be displayed at the right end of the frequency display.

4. Press and hold the [F] key for 3 seconds. A long beep will sound, the screen will clear and then the frequency will be displayed on the LCD.

This completes the modification. :D[/img]
