Hello everyone, Im going to take my Tech test on the 5th here and have been looking at different radios, ect......
And I have been reading info on this one...

Are these radios very good, dependable, ect ?...
Are they worth the money ?......thanks in advance..
 

I just bought a new-to-me unit. I installed it yesterday, but have not yet programed it. From the little bit of playing with it which I have done this morning, I love it. The audio is very clear, and the reports from the two contacts which I made this morning were very good except for the tone burst which it seems to be emitting at the beginning of each transmission. I think that I have narrowed it down to the "Wires" activation tones. The display is adequate but it is no FTM-350...Drool. But I didn't buy it for the display, I bought it for the 6 and 10 meter capabilities.

The manual sucks.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
