Hi an 840 thats been tweaked at 150 watts max.(why i dont no 100 WHATS IS USUALY GOOD ENOUGH.) i have located the fault and i believe the psu been put under strain, looking by the way the bios resistor looks more scorched than usual ie the radio output is ok but gets to a sertain temp and breaks down pwr down to zero and radio locks out any views on this?please'' has any one come across this prob in the 840...?
 

Dunno, but obviosly the mod means that the warranty is void. If you can find out which parts can be used to unmodify the radio try to deal with it. If not, you can send it to CA and ask them to fix it, but it is gonna cost some $$ to do it.

As if another 50 watts is gonna matter.......

I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
