First ten days and I have yet to get in on any conversation on 440. I have a Yaesu FT-60R and an 8800R. I have both hooked to high quality comet antennas. 2 meters is fine. I was even hitting a repeater 100 miles away (moutain repeater on the HT with the mobile antenna). The + and - is auto programmed, so I don't think that's the trouble. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the menu settings. I do a total reset tonight and no go.

Any clues? Yaesu has no seperate simplex button that I can find.

Thanks

Does your repeater require a tone to gain access?

My local repeates require a tone to access 'em, and if you don't imput it in into the radio, you can listen, but you can't get into the repeater.

It's a possibility.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
