On a Freightliner with a single mirror mounted antenna, I ran a braided piece from the door hinge bolt to the firewall bolt. With or without, either way it is: Ch. 1- 1.4:1 Ch. 40-1.7:1 My question is: does the bonding still help antenna performance or not?

Im on the road and don't have easy access to purchase a meter. Truck stops however, gave an abundance of these meters. So my question is: are they reliable, accurate, how about the power meter function? Should I just wait till I get home and order one? If so, what brand?
