Smart ass.

Years ago my "pea sea" had a program that not only checked spelling as you typed but also grammar. It would indicate when the improper word was used and if you forgot to capitalize the first letter in a sentence or name. I often wonder why it is not done like that any more.

The main consideration is to select the tap that results in the proper filament voltage and not worry about what the plate voltage is. This why I like separate filament and plate transformers. If you ever move some place where the line voltage is different change the taps to reflect that difference.

So don't do 250v taps now, do what's on the meter aka 240v.

I took a reading and it shows @242-243 volts, is this okay for amp to be co figures for 240 or 245 or 250 volt?

Yes, amp can be terminated as 240vac. You might see a bit more voltage than 240vac with no load. 240-243vac is fine. When the load is applied the voltage will probably drop a bit anyway. And be careful and take your time! Wouldn't hurt to purchase some lockout tags from Home Depot or somewhere as well so no one else happens to turn the breaker back on while your messing with it. Some lockout tags/devices keep the breaker from being able to be tuned on. And double triple check the power at the breaker and at plug for power before starting any removal or messing with things. Just some food for thought. Good luck and again be safe.

I don't know why I am responding to you AGAIN in this regard because it is obvious that you do not pay attention to what anybody says and I am even more convinced you are just trolling but here it goes yet again. Please refer once again to the post here: http://www.worldwidedx.com/threads/electrical-question.189807/page-2#post-529505

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT TAPPING FOR EXACT MAINS VOLTAGE IT WILL CHANGE DURING THE DAY AT PEAK LOAD TIMES. WORRY ABOUT GETTING THE PROPER FILAMENT VOLTAGE REGARDLESS OF THE TAP SETTINGS. START AT 240 AND GO UP/DOWN FROM THERE.

Basically I'll have it all put together then plug it in once done and gone over a few times making sure just in case.

Then I'll pray LOL
