an additional 5' today. Now I'm up and over the surrounding rooftops. Big difference especially to the North and West.
BTW, I'd show you a photo or two, but the website say's it exceeds my quota.

Normally I'd say that just a few feet doesn't do a lot of good when raising an antenna, but, it just depends on where that few feet puts the antenna, right? If it makes a difference in what might be 'obstructing' that antenna, it can mean a big difference (as you're finding out). If you added a few feet when you were at 40 - 70 feet already, and in the 'clear', I'd say it wasn't very worthwhile. There's always a 'catch' to this stuff, ain't there?

You bet it does, in my case. There is a tall brick structure East of me, which I'm clearing now and also my antenna wasn't quite over the top of my roof before, which was hindering me to the West and North and now it is. So now I'm up and over the imediate obstructions. The distant ones don't matter much, as I probabaly angle up well enough.:thumbup1:

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
