its been many years since i used it, i remember it did well locally, always seemed better than its size would suggest when compared to endfed halfwaves,
old peter rated it very highly on his antenna chart but i did not always agree with all his measurements.

george found an old advert,
the starduster 2 or m800 was a dual band antenna 27mhz and fm broadcast, i guess the coils do have caps inside the fiberglass insulators like old peter said.

Yes, replaced the Imax 2000 with the Merlin no more TVI...

the only forums that pimp the merlin are the ones that have 55 or one of his buddies (coolbreeze , yota and junky come to mind) as sponsors or moderators there . it hasnt been as blindly recieved on many forums . heres a few threads on it....
