FT-897D, 11 meter mod?

Has anyone tried the "MARS CAP" mod on the Yaesu FT-897D? I'm not concerned about AM, Just wondering how it performs on SSB.

I've done the mod on my 897d and used it above 4Mhz on MARS nets many times. It worked just fine.
