Has anyone tried the "MARS CAP" mod on the Yaesu FT-897D? I'm not concerned about AM, Just wondering how it performs on SSB.
Thanks!

Describe said modification as MARS/CAP mod or 60 Meter mod.

I've done the mod on my 897d and used it above 4Mhz on MARS nets many times. It worked just fine.

Thanks for the replys.
I've kinda jumped on the other thread that's covering this topic. I must have posted this subject at the same time the other thread was started.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
