Wow!! Nothing short of awsome!! A true master of the art

Yes kd-5-bgt, today you probably couldn't pay to learn this art and get an understanding of the skills and theory as well. Of course this master, no doubt has a lot of practice---you can see that in the way he works.

Marconi I have to agree with you on that, talent like that has no price, and learning something like what he is doing would take many years to even be able to begin to grasp...I just watched it again and I am still dumbfounded

unbelievable........

Capt. Kilo. I am sure there is someone out there that does make their own transistors and IC's :p ...but I bet his hands are a bit more steady than mine are...not to mention his eyesight is a bit better ;)

He's just stuck in the dark ages. If he really wanted to impress someone he would make his own transistors and IC's.

CK, IMO your comment is tacky and may not be justified. My crystal ball is broken, but for me this demonstration of an old technology, doesn't tell us a thing about what this man understands about the transistor.

IMO you completely missed the context my post was to be taken in. Hint: JEST! (y) As for being stuck in the dark ages I LOVE TUBES! (y)Nothing like good old hollow state gear for a nice ragchew.

lol,
we moved into the dark ages when somebody realised that you could prop up a solid state amplifier with feedback to linearise a none linear and cheaper to make transistor amplifier and use horrible pushpull with more impressive power figures for wattwachers with defective hearing,
they eased us into it with pushpull pentodes and ultra linear taps thinking nobody would notice their scullduggery,

that opened the door for cheap loudspeakers with smaller cheaper magnets for the masses,

with the exception of a handfull of modern high end tube designs we have gone backwards ever since the pure class A directly heated triode used in the single ended zero feedback amplifiers of the 1930's'

beam tetrodes, pentodes, ultra linear taps, pushpull, feedback, feed forward, solid state, class b, class ab1-linear, all pull the wool over your ears,

reminds me of the modern cber with his very inefficient class c keydown amp running on stock volts:sad:.
