M6B on a Yaesu FT-857D

I have an FT-857 and wonder WHY anyone would want to run a power microphone on one. They have far more than enough audio gain with even the stock microphone and the mic gain can be set independently for each mode AM,FM, and SSB so you can set it and forget it. If you are looking for better audio on AM then you need more than a power mic. Check out my post on proper operation of the FT-857 in AM mode here: http://www.worldwidedx.com/yaesu/59303-yaesu-yaesu-857-897-amplitude-modulation-operation.html It makes all the difference in the world when using the FT-857 on AM.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
