My 2 Meter Station

Yes, the 241 is a nice radio, I remember there being a fix for that screen issue, it was apparently cold solder joints on the screen ribbon cable connector on the board or the pins inside that connector don't compress the cable ribbon enough for good contact. I am trying another antenna that a threw together this evening that has a better SWR than the other antenna I made. Apparently I was using my SWR/Watt meter wrong, I re-read the manual and after doing things correctly my SWR on the coat-hanger antenna was 1.5 on the low end of the band and 2 on the high end of the band, my new antenna does 1.1 all across the band. The new antenna it a converted 11 meter mobile with added groundplane.

Here's a pic of the converted 11 Meter mobile antenna for 2 meters it get an SWR of 1.1:1.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
