Watch out for this one....sivley123 in Guntersville, AL. He is a scam artist. He bought a AR3500 from me now he says it doesn't work. Said the radio was dirty and dusty and wants his money back. He also said it took 16 days to get there. I checked the tracking number,,,it was mailed on 5/16 and arrived 5/19. We checked it before we sent it and everything worked as it should. Even had another shop check it out. Took lots of pictures as well. I also kept the serial # as well. Not sure whats going to happen, but may be my last thing sold on E-Bay. He now wants me to refund his money and keep the radio. I don't understand some people. I have 100% positive with them.....177 transactions.

Well he can't have both in a dispute. He can claim Item Not As Described and ask for a refund IF you listed it as USED.

Agree to take it back and he must return it to you. If he tries anything with the radio itself and it comes back to you not in the condition you sent it, you may have a chance with Customer Support to negotiate a partial refund.

Hopefully it just comes back the way you sent it and you can sell it again and live another day.

Add the jerk to your Blocked Bidders List.

Good luck

Yes there are a lot of scammers on Ebay but in all fairness there are a lot of nice buyers also, it just takes a few bad apples to spoil the batch so to speak, thanks for the heads up I will put this looser on my blocked list. Seems no matter what you put when you list something Ebay does what it wants anyway, reciently I listed a radio, no refunds no return, the guy complained and I had to refund him his money anyway, radio got back here still working thank God.

Yep, vast majority of eBayer's are honest. You can find sellers with over 10,000 !!!! transactions and 100% ratings. Wow.

I have thread going about this issue in the Announcements and General Forum.

Recap: Sellers MUST read the DEFINITION of Item Condition Terms carefully.

If you list an item as USED - USED reads in part "....may show some signs of cosmetic wear but item is fully operational and functions as intended...."

So a USED listing essentially means you are GUARANTEEING that items works 100% as should irregardless of ANYTHING you also say in the Text Description box. You say say "No refunds- No Returns" all day long and it doesn't matter !!

If you want to make a FINAL SALE with No Refunds - No Returns, then you must list it as For Parts Or Not Working even if the items is just fine and works 100% - Just state in the ad that the items is working or whatever and explain you're listing it that way to make a final sale.

Yeah I know it's too much to ask some people to read the rules, details and fine print :D :bdh:

I listed it as used. And thats why I went through the trouble to make sure it worked as it should. I have since found out hes bought another radio like this one as well. Claims he owns a couple of them.

Seeing as were on that subject I have had an awful time with radios4less130, radios4less369, basesrloadedjohn and BFRadiosupply723. Seems they are all the same family or person or something just real scammers, left me negitive feedback and never paid for the radio, what's that about?? I got it removed and I think a few of their ID's are kicked off Ebay but just to be sure put these idiots in your block list

Does all seem to be the same person and ALL above ID's come back as "No longer a registered user"

I've been eBaying since 1999 but this is the reason I no longer sell there... I'm also VERY cautious who I buy from. Too bad the Bay is a now a haven for scam artists.

Well I dunno Ratso. I think eBay has instituted every possible protection for buyer's that they can. It is nearly impossible to perpetrate any selling fraud on eBay and get away with it.

Now Craigslist...... THERE is the scammer's paradise. Living dangerously there ya are.

If you use the tools available on eBay you'll see that sivley123 bought another AR3500 during the same timeframe. The bid history shows he placed his bid for the second radio on May 18, the day before yours was delivered.

He probably decided he wanted the more pristine (and expensive!) radio from the Washington seller instead of yours, and is trying to back out of the deal by filing a fraudulent dispute.

CL aint that bad - I won't mail, but what could happen in a face-to-face transaction? Of course you take precautions...

Its not just Ebay Ive had it happen twice in one year to me and I can assure you it wont happen again ;) Also always I mean always write down serial numbers and take a few pics distinctive marks scratches ETC inside pics if possible. You wouldnt believe what the 2 clowns did to me

When ever I sell anything, it's always on Craigs list and the item must be picked up. I also note the license number of the vehicle the guy is driving. I just don't answer the "nut calls" or obvious email inquiries. I've bought a number of things through eBay and, honestly, have had pretty good luck.

Even if he wanted the more "pristine" model, from what I've read this guy wants a full refund "AND" to keep the radio. I call shenanigans and smell a stinkin' scam.
To the OP, don't take no shorts..have him return the radio first before you lift a finger. Make sure it's the one you sent.
