magnum omegaforce s45HP problem.

If they suggested you get an RA Number, that means its going back to the factory. I would do whatever I needed to do, and get that number, and send it back. Whatever you do, dont tinker around inside the radio anymore than you have done.
No first hand knowledge on this... but you might want to set everything back to factory.

Wouldnt it be fun to go through all this hassle, and have them not honor a warranty because you played around inside the radio?
Not saying that will happen, but man would that suck.

See if they will issue a Call Tag to ship the item back. (aka they are paying shipping back to them)

Good luck.
why are all the locals here in southern california saying chris holland is a hack?
sam says chris knows this radio very well.
also the radio shop has a bad rep?..........only chris can repair it but i got an ear ful yesterday from a older fella about how horrible chris is on magnum radios.

Well; that old 'friend' just swindled you out of getting your radio fixed - either on purpose or not. You can't complain any more. You now have no where to go to.

It's funny ya know; some people say good things about people and some say bad.

Chris is the West Coast AUTHORIZED warranty guy for Magnum. Bob's CB in PA is another; he is the guy that helped develop some of Magnum radio stuff. He and Sam L were the guys that designed and built the AR 3500 & 3300 radio. Chris was the developer of the CR-577 mic - BTW.

Don't know what to tell ya dude . . .

id like to know what chris did to this old fellar radio cause i got one sitting
here in front of me that was done up by chris and i wont part with it.
great tx/rx and its not butchered up at all.

i mailed the radio to Chris this morning. he will get it Friday (tomorrow). one thing i don't understand why people bash on someone maybe there jealous?...im starting to thing these people go by here say rather then experiencing it them selves. Chris was very decent on the phone yesterday and this morning Sam was very nice and 3xplained some things to me so..... he laphed when i told him what the locals here said about Chris Holland. if i must make a list of what i was about Chris was this: Chris Holland is not even an engineer, uses a circuit tester that puts out volts that would kill a mosfet. he was a bitch for a shop back in the day and knows nothing about radios. my mouth dropped when i was told this like WOA ....i didn't know what to say. but like i said radio is mailed to him so im sure he knows what the fuck he is doing if he didn't I'm sure Sam wouldn't use him as a authorized repair shop. i also got the long winded story about how bill good was a awesome tech and invented many radios. however when he built a radio on a bread board company's would offer to buy the design and cheap out like adding 1/8th resistors instead of 1/4 and so on, or use 5v CAP's instead of 25v caps....... i know that being in a company you should do as much as possible to make a good quality item for cheap without c heaping out to much.

Bill Good was an Awesome Radio Tech, he suggested many things to Jim Peng and his "factory representative`s" that would have resulted in improvements to the RCI radios....but never got implemented.
Mass production factory`s have a controller that see`s $$ sign`s ...
If a part cost`s 85 cents in bulk, and they can get another part with a lower rating that will just barely get by for 44 cents they just saved the company over 20 grand...., so a few fail, no big deal to the pencil pusher in the office.

That AMer in your area that filled your ears with crap is an H&Der; what can you expect? One of many reasons I don't do AM any more, many of the H&Der's are full of themselves. A few normal ones - but getting rare any more.

Sent it to Chris after all of this?
Cool for you . . .

Excuse my ignorance, but what is an "H&D'er"?

Bill Good was practically a legend in the RF tech world when he was alive, and not just for CB stuff. Chris worked for him for a little bit - until Bill fired him. It was a long time ago and I don't know the story...I wasn't present, so I don't know what was said. And I don't really care. For some of the old timers, they are stuck on something that happened years ago and just can't let go.

If Sam Lewis says Chris is the guy to work on their radios, that's pretty much all you need to know.

H&D = Hate & Discontent...? IMO
And 'hate and dissatisfaction' or 'hell and destruction'.

It all comes down to monkeyfied* groups or individuals that lay claim to any one (or all) channel(s) that will go out and cut coax, place phony Craiglist ads to sell your car, or much worse if you don't belong to that 'clique' or stay off of their 'freekencee'.
Been there; done that . . . no more . . . never did the coax cutting or the other stuff; but I knew the guys that did . . .

monkeyfied* def: Those that sell, distribute, and smoke marijuana. Or those who are constantly liquored up. Usually - both.

Hi all:

Years ago I purchase a Magnun Omega Force S-45 in Mexico, after a year and the warranty expired the radio stopped working, same symptoms as Morse123 experience, long story short a Mod from another forum called Sam Lewis and got me an RA number to ship the radio to Chriss Holland in Ontario,Ca,Mr. lewis honored the warranty even when the radio was out of warranty and purchased in Mexico, that will say much about an outstanding customer and warranty service.

Radio was ship back to me in 5 working days and after 9 years the radio still preforming top notch, when I got it back from Chriss the radio work beter than ever, like some members from this forum said,if he is an authorized service center must be for a good reason and all I can say is that I'm very satisfied with my radio after all this years, wich make me bought more Magnun products.
