Anyone ever use a ranger 2950 mic on a hr 2510? I want a mic with the up down buttons and have 2 2510's and only one mic. Tired of switching the one mic back and forth between mobiles.
The Ranger 2950 mic is a 6 pin mic and the 2510 mic is a 5 pin mic. Won't switch out.
I had the same problem and thought of that one too until I actually looked. Got a great deal here on a used 2950 mic.
Have seen them listed new on a couple of websites(don't recall which ones, but, Google will help you find them) for around $25 or so.

It would be easy to rewire a Ranger mic to work on the 2510. The Ranger uses a receive connection and the 2510 does not. Get a 5 pin connector and rewire leaving out the recieve wire. I was wondering if any one has done it because the 2510 mic is not the best and I have heard the Ranger mics are pretty good.
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
