Sometime in November is what they're saying.

No SSB model...sorry :)

Looks like they are hoping on the digital display bandwagon but the styling on their radios definitely is different, more like stereo receivers.

Will post more info as soon as I have it.

Yea, thanks for the up-date and glad they got some new stuff butt.....come on, get us a decent new SSB model.

I wouldn't even be slighly interested in a radio from Uniden today, unless they once again started to build SSB radios like they used to - or better.

Isn't Uniden building radios for President and distributing them in Europe?
They make SSB radios for them.
I think Jazzsinger knows about that one . . .

They used to charge a flat rate fee of $30 to repair any of their out of warranty radios. I sent them 2 smoked 2510's back in the early 90's. They both came back working like a champ, plus they threw in 2 brand new mics to boot.

I don't think I ever had any Uniden radio, scanner, phone...that I wasn't completely happy with. Everything they made had a certain sexy look about it, until now.

I'd like to see them make a full featured HF rig, but would settle for an exact remake of a Grant XL.

The only SSB offering from President is the Jackson II, a disappointment when compared to the old school Jacksons. The Lincoln II is several years behind schedule and plans might have been scrapped. With the legalization of SSB on the CB band in Europe (except the 26 and 19) a new model may be in devolopment but I'm sure they would be overpriced for what they are, like the entire President line.

IMO the 2 worst export radios of all time were the Texas Star and Jackson made in the early to mid 1980s. Just plain weak ass audio on AM and halfway decent SSB. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would think the old school Jacksons are great, they are dogs. As far as the new Unidens go......more of the same crap.

just had a bit of a thought - what if uniden made them to look like car stereos so they would look like they fit right in w/ other in-dash stereos? i.e., they made them DIN-sized so they could fit into OEM DIN dash openings, and they wouldn't look out of place? they have front-mounted mike plugs, so that wouldn't be a problem plugging the mike in...
