hummmmmmm, the 98vhp i had only did about 220....240 watts, mine must have been defective.lmao
Those radios WILL do 500 watts all day if you weaken the wattmeter's return spring. That is a trade secret.
Back in the day Palomar made a wattmeter called the PW-1000 and a 4 x MRF455 Gray 300 would swing it to 700 watts.
Yes I believe his wattmeter is calibrated to the Dosy standard. I farted next to one once and saw about 50 watts swing.
Lol, must be the same guy that was on Ch 38LSB this morning, he was selling a Palomar 500 (1 1446 driving 4 1446`s) he was giving out his phone number, and said it will do 800 watts with 35 watts of drive.... 1000 if you whistle...
