Thought I'd share with all of you....yesterday I went to visit a CB repair man who has been in business since the early 70's. Inside his shop is a treasure trove of old CB radios from days gone by.

Some are awaiting work, some are parts donors, some are for sale, and all of the ones on the top shelf are not for sale.

I managed to snap a few pics with my android, so I know they're not the best and I know I didn't get many. But I figured a few to start you off with would be great.

Recognize any of the radios?

p.s. at least one of the radios is a 440 MHz class B CB radio.

I'm not very good at this stuff, but I see a Cobra 142GTL, 139XLR base, 2000GTL base, and a 200GTL mobile. Is the bottom right a Pearce Simpson model? I have an old Pearce Simpson Panther 23 channel SSB rig. :)

Thanks for sharing the pics, you've got quite a collection there!

Close on the Cobra 200 DX in the 1st pic....it's actually a 150 DX. he's been trying to sell it for some time.

However, yes you did see a Cobra 2000 GTL, yes there's also a 142 and next to it I forget what model it was, maybe the 139 XLR? It looks like the 142 but w/o the side band.

Yes that's a Pearce-Simpson in the lower right corner. I don't recall what model it is. Most likely a 40 ch. Just an FYI in the 1st pic most of those radios are 40 ch.'s as that's the "on the rack" radios.

Funny you mention getting a 23 ch Panther SSB....I happened to have recently acquired the base station version of it, the Bengal. First I've ever seen a 3 plug mic.

Wow. Lots of stuff.

I see a Demco Super Satellite, a Pearce-Simpson Guardian 23, Sonar FS-23, a few Galaxy mobiles, what appears to be a Pace mobile, a Regency base, some PAL VCOs, a Siltronix VFO, a vintage Browning R27 /S23 base and a few others that I'm blanking on the name right now. (Is that 3-piece black set on the shelf next to the Regency and metal detectors a Utica?)
