drifting when i am talking....

Thanks but that's not the right radio I have a RCI-2990 it is an older ver and I do have a link to the right radio.

I am not going to adjust any thing in this radio because I don't want to shop that worked on it, say I messed it up.. I may just take it back and explain what it is doing..

when I took it in the first time I told them to do the alignment and look it over for any faults...

Yes but the 2995 replaced the 2990 and many of the adjustments are the same. I guess the main point was to read the full alignment procedure and I at least say wow, there is alot involved there. The 2990 is a super radio when done up right.

ok but that adjustment can next to it is the TX for USB and the plastic inside is melted a little bit.
Would you say it is worth a shot for $4 part? I can order it and have it on hand if the shop wants to through it in.

Are you sure about the "plastic" being melted? Many times a manufacturer will put a little blob of wax in the opening of such an adjustment after getting the alignment within spec. This is to discourage people from trying to get the golden screwdriver inside to see what will happen. A real tech will melt the wax, suck out the residue with something like a solder sucker, do the readjustment if necessary, and then re-seal the can.

100% melted plastic

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
