I have a tuned/peaked connex 4400hp but never really liked the look. I love the Uniden 980ssb but it doesn't have an echo. I like my mic and don't care much for the look of the echo mics. I have seen a few echo boxes (I think it was called Extreme Echo or something like that) and I believe the our out of Australia. Seemed to do a pretty good job but is it just one more added box and connector that's a waste of $$$?

Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. Lol. Seriously tho I have a mid to high toned voice and trying to put a little base or reverb in it. Just a tad nothing annoying or timed so it sounds like your in a cave.

My CRE-8900 has the best echo in my opinion. Just a smidge and timed to the speed of my talking. Just remember to it off on SSB.
Did I mention that it's single DIN sized so that it fits in a car radio opening?

Disclaimer: The CRE-8900's CW tone delay sucks and talkback doesn't turn completely off. However, the 8900 rocks with a Astatic Road Devil mic! Good sounding, clear, loud(your choice).

Buy an Astatic 575-m6 mic off ebay, it has volume and tone controls on the outside. You can tailor the freq response to match your voice.

There was a couple of 575's on Ebay yesterday. $124 for the cheapest one.

...or you could do surgery the Bulldog way.

wow!! think ill hold onto mine for that price. back to orignal question
only echeo box i had was made by astatic [i think] it sucked. honestly the best
echeo ive heard is from a mic 2018 xtreame. and i dont use echeo anymore
but i always thought these sounded the best. also the mic itself without any
effects on had a nicesound too it. not the high pitched nasily sound like other hand mics

Echos around here get the villagers all stirred up. Next they come at you with pitchforks and rocks. Echos are for good buddies.

I had a palomar echobox, and it was a PIA in the mobile. it liked to squeal. I tried all kinds of shielding and groundings but it was just too picky.
I ended up selling it to a guy with a base.
best echo I've had or heard has been astatic's echomax mic.

There is not and has never been a need for echo. You don't need or want echo or reverb to alter the tone of your voice, you want an EQ. My voice is also mainly mids and highs and a slight roll-off of the highs and a slight boost of the lows evens things out nicely.
