anyone familiar with the Kenwood TK-840 and programing it? I have the DOS program and programed for GMRS for a base station.
I would like to loosen up the squelch a bit. is there away or am I just missing it?

hold down the 3rd button across the bottom(group down) while turning on the radio, then after the radio powers up, press the scan button, this will get you into the tuning menu with several options you can adjust (SQL, BAL, FQT, FDQT, FID, SENS, POWER, DEV)

I bought this radio with no documentation so I'm not familiar with all LMR terms. What is FQT, FDQT, FID? The radio is the wide-band version that covers GMRS but I've noticed the It's a bit deaf compared to my other radios. My question is: "can you post your settings from your radio so I can make sure mine is in the ballpark?" I'd like to compare it to what mine looks like. Sorry for :bdh: Thanks again.
