Hello guys I have a cobra 148gtl has receive based on the meter and transmit and pushes out audio but cannot get sound on spearker or internal speaker also when I opened it up there was a purple wire loose goes to cb/pa switch but I don't know where it goes to board maybe that's my problem? thanks

It goes to the board nestled in between C173, C174, and C208. Those 3 capacitors are located right next to the audio IC (TA7222P or TA7222AP) and the AM pass regulator transistor (C1419 or D1135). These are located on the back right of the radio, near your +12V plug in.

Hope this helps. :)

~Cheers~

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
