I had the II and miss it. I have to say so you pretty much nailed it with your equipment, not to mention pleasing the wife :) I like the LPDA (CK mentioned) as well and used one for a couple of years when I was in the military.

yep, T8, it is my second one... I lost the first one on my old tower (before I moved to this place) when a guy wire anchor point failed...we had 100 mph winds, the tower buckled about 25' up and the whole thing came down.
It will not compete with 5 element mono-banders, but for general hamming and casual DXing it is great.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
