Need a little help did not come with a bnc tester leads now do i need to get a bnc to aligator clips or bnc to probe which indicates at 100mhz? Thanks

Good question. Aligning a radio is useless unless the counter is accurate as well. There are a couple of ways to accomplish this. The first, is to use a ham rig and tune it to the 10mhz WWV station as a reference souce to compare your counter with:

I used to do that exact technique to check our counter in the shop when I was in broadcasting. I also used that technique to remotely monitor the actually transmitter frequency for our remote AM stations. I had a receiver to tune in the stations and that signal was mixed with a sig gen whose freq was monitored by a calibrated counter. Industry Canada was impressed with that technique and actually approved it for remotely determining TX freq. Up here AM stations needed to be with 10 Hz of assigned carrier frequency so monitoring was necessary.
