Uniden Washington (858) alignment help please?

Hi all, I just received a Unden President Washington with the 858 chip. It's a nice little radio but SSB output is low. AM is about 5 watts out and about the same on SSB. Can someone tell me the alignment procedure to bring up the SSB power? I have a peak meter and some equipment, for sure it is low on SSB. Thanks for any help, Adam

ct7 is ssb power, use a non metallic screw driver

did you use a metal screwdriver? it will peak with the metal one but will drop down when you pull the screwdriver off.

Yes, I have a full set of plastic alignment tools.

since it is a 858 PLL radio I would say it needs to be recapped to bring the power back up. more than likely they are leaking some from having low output and will not raise up any.
