Where can I find this?

Is it similar/same to other power cords from another product that will work on these radios?

If this is a standard plug type; then I've never seen it before.

it does take a special 2 pin plug. they are hard to find. ever so often a seller in Canada has them. they are very expensive to buy from him when he sells them. have not seen is cord add in a while. it was like 29.99 plus shipping when he has it. they are just a 2 pin but the plug for the wall and radio only fits in 1 direction.

look at the one in the picture and see if it looks like the socket on the radio. it does not show for the 458 radio but I would think the 457 and 458 would be the same.

these cords are getting harder to find. Kens electronics does not show having them any more. for some reason they are getting harder to find on ebay. when I made my move from Michigan to Oklahoma in 2008 my cord like this came up missing. since I no longer work on radios for others I really do not need it. ever so often I think about buying another but none of my radios need this plug. for 11.00 I might buy one for just in case. normally the one in Canada is all that shows up. he has 2 in the posting but shipping makes it so high. he use to sell one for 29.95 then about 13.00 to ship. I never wanted one bad enough to buy one at that price.

thanks Robb, I just ordered one my self since it was so cheap. hope the cord is polarized it does not say. not real sure if it will make a difference but the stock cords were.
thanks

hey Robb my power cord came today. only thing I am wondering about is it is not polarized. I called my buddy at his shop and his cord is polarized and will only plug in one way. have you received your cord and does it work as it should by being able to plug it in in any direction.

Howdy hey sonoma:

Just received my power cord today from Fry's Electronics. Perfect! Score! Goallllllllllllllll!!!. Cannot beat that price and is an exact fit! For reference for others with this same issue, it is 'Philmore' Replacement AC Cord No.2465P.

I had just rebuilt a TRC-458 (caps, xtals, transistors, cleanup, etc, and mosfet final). But I needed to know if the power supply that I rebuilt was OK too. Cord came today and I could adjust the voltage out and is working. Almost finished with this long-term project; just need to paint the case and and align the receiver and I will be finished with it. Whew!
