My rs pro 2046 lost its memory

Does it have a battery? Or something else? Takes an hour to program then turn it off n 5 minutes later all is lost
 

All the Radio Shack/Realistic scanners I've owned that used a battery for memory retention used a 9 volt cell on the back of the radio. If there is not battery compartment I'd guess that it uses a capacitor to retain memory.

it dont have a battery.ive owned it since new. However left it on my power supply turned on for 24 hours n PRESTO it must built up a charge.least its holding frequincys . Internal capacitor must need a charge
 
Yes, it needs to be powered up every now and then.

Just refereshes memory.

There is a CB Tune up Manual - those old Cu thingys...that talked about the Pro 2026 and a power supply upgrade that replaced a keep alive cap.

Might be around this forum.

usually every 3 months i fire it up.but missed it last 6 months thi time.but after 24 hours on it woke up
