Old Turner mic for a new mobile

Up front, I care about SSB only. Pretty much the only time I’m on AM is to find who’s bleeding on me :D Looking at the M+2 and M+3. Cool old stuff.

Questions:

1. Any recommendations?

2. Do any of the mobile mics have the +3s legendary speech compression?

Thanks!

I've always used a Turner +3b on whatever mobile rig I was using, occasionally swapping it out for their Roadking 70/76 which looks like the M+3b and has noise canceling benefits....never did take to the +2 hand mic though. My experience was that it became a bit uncomfortable after yakking on the radio for some length of time because of the corners in the design. Buying used M+2/U it's hard to find one where the plastic they used at the time didn't get ugly, and very often, where the push-to-talk tab wasn't broken (top rear almost always).

2NC995...did you get that Scary +3B squared away? Nosey folks want to know.

I sure haven’t. No time to mess with it yet. Hopefully this weekend I’ll get it sorted out.

Running as a 4 pin with 6 pin adaptor cable...so I’m thinking it’s not currently set up as a 4 pin cobra pattern.

The plus +2 came today, and this one is wired and ready. I must admit, I might choose the +2 over the +3 just on looks...lol. Going to like having this one around!

i run a telex/turner rk56 on my cobra 29gtl in my pickup with fine reports,,, on my first generation president washington i run a turner super sidekick,,,, and on my galaxy 2527dx i run a ugly ugly turner +3b that i had got in the bottom of a box of trade stuff, it was in pieces and missing some wiring and the relays was loose and apparently been apart at one time,,but with some parts from junk box i got it going perfect,, but paint it up? nope i like its worn off black paint and bare metal look,, it gives it character,,,

Have to break out the drawing board for this one.

The +2 doesn’t do anything hooked to the Lincoln, aside from change freqs.

The +3 seems to work well, but randomly changes freqs.

Both work as expected on a 4 pin radio.

Every other 4 pin mic I own seems to work fine with the adaptor cable.
