Dak X guts replaced

I have a nice looking Dak X that needs a little TLC.
But I was wondering if anybody had ever gotten around to putting a different board and power supply into one?
Like a 2510, 2950, 2970 that sort of thing.

I did see that article but I think it is going to be alot more complicated to put in a actual 10/11 meter mobile into my Dak.
