I have a 2019 express 15 passenger van. I have been looking for a console to mount cb, amp, few switches..... I like the gamberjohnson stuff , but cant seem to find anything for van... Any Ideas or DIY's that peoples put in van consoles? thanks.

Top pic is Peterbilt part.
Second is eBay generic.
It does not rise higher than the seat cushion. Developed for the 359-series and carried into the 379-series.
(There are other items like this out there).
I recommend a parts search to get dimensions. Compare to seat present in van. (Note that tapers towards base. Follow that).
It did not fit flush against seat (air-ride seats move up/down as well as forward/rearward), so the “critical” areas of concern are in bringing power and coax as to placement.
Two big burly men can pack a lot of “stuff” into their own to get down the road for that days maps, coffee, BOL, snacks and misc.
This item is so great I’ve thought of spending my own money to install one.
One for each front passenger seat is the way to go. For something as small as this is . . it holds a surprising amount.
Radios faced upwards (marine mount with cover inletted) is simple & appealing)

I'm using a milk crate between the front seats of my van. Multiple radios mounted inside. If the radios don't stick up beyond the top, you can even put a hinged cover on it.
I have seen many a old fire department squad vehicle- Suburban, van, pick up truck with wooden home brew consoles. the woodwork was well built with heavy vanish, switches and wiring all managed well. When a factory built option was not available the guys built it. A modern van would still look professional with a custom wooden cabinet, between the seats or mounted to the dog box.
That’s why I offered the above as an idea. Proven size & design.
There used to be an eBay seller of custom wood units as you describe (and we’ve both seen). Late 1980s conversion vans (see pics).

Hinged lid n installed radio inside it n kept some other stuff in it too l0g book insurane n permit papers.
1 dot guy inspected my truck n was all excited that i had a case o dynimite between my seats till he seen it was empty never used.
I ended up making a cushion on top n then id lay across seats n slerp,or my daughter n wife would go along daughter had a seat
