I'd like to use a stand off mount on the side of my tower to install a small 2 meter/70 cm vertical antenna.

Is there any minimum distance the mount should stand off from the tower to avoid interference and messing up the SWR too much? Is 3 feet enough or does it have to be more?

Thanks

A couple of my homebrews.. Angle iron, spare mast, U bolts..

Thanks. I was thinking of doing something similar....homebrew. How far do they stick out from the tower????
The discone is on 4 ft angle iron and the tri band vertical if I remember correctly is on 6ft. You can also use aluminum angle if your load is an issue.. its also lighter to hall up and mount. I used 6ft on the vertical to get out as far as possible to avoid interaction with the tower. It seems to work fine with minimal nulls.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
