Talk about a rejected beauty

I found this on the ABR website.

There is no way I would have attempted to abide by the HOA crap. Those rules do not apply to a licensed service....period!
I would rain Hell on them all day and night and I would WIN!
They wouldn't have a toster that I wouldn't rattle the heating element in. They would dream my call sign!
They would worship at the alter of my station and beg for my forgiveness and there would be none!
They would regret every communist rule that they had ever dreamed!
Their self serving way of thinking would forever be regretted in the presence of my legal antenna they tried to tell me I couldn't have!!

Oh....just for those that I might have rattled a bit with those seemingly vindictive measures. "Don't tread on me" comes to mind.
Every time we bow down and give up a little liberty for security or comfort it is never given back....it has to be fought for.
Of course this could have gone a whole other direction of mutual respect and community cooperation.
I'm not a spiteful person, I'm just not tolerant or comfortable giving up my rights, no one should be!

Back off a little with the chest thumping Tarzan. You should actually learn just exactly what PRB-1 states. It does say that HOA's must provide a REASONABLE solution to the amateur antenna issue but it does NOT give carte blanche to install whatever you want nor does it absolve you of interference issues. The big issue becomes what is deemed to be "reasonable". As for any other limitations of an HOA.......you agree to the terms when you sign on the dotted line.

Never have I personally delt with an HOA..."you agree to the terms when you sign on the dotted line." I see your point, I would never sign!
Speaking as a Ham I am absolved of interference so long as my signal is spectrally clean and linear. I can't help it if someone's toaster is susceptible to fundamental overload....that isn't my problem "chest thumping Tarzan intended lol" all jokes aside I'm a great radio neighbor and am very helpful and reasonable but you don't want me as your enemy! I WILL destroy you!
I've been know to run very large amounts of power and never scratch a speaker or put a line in a TV. I know how to keep my signal where it belongs and I do. I encourage everyone to do so, especially when running less than legal. I also know how to be a real nightmare yet remain legal as well. But that's not very nice and I'm a nice guy
Like I said though I would never sign (set) my own death trap!
'73 all and be nice to your neighbors, they might let you use their tree for an antenna!

Some hams have been fighting for years over what " reasonable" is defined as.

Oh speaking of "reasonable" they gave that lady absolutely no accommodations which angers me deeply because she did try and she honored her commitment.
It's a shame she let them back her down to force her on an indoor antenna!
That is not a reasonable accommodation!

To me it was just ridiculous that so many Karen's had such a problem with the antenna in the first video. I guess the ham should have already known when he moved into an hoa restricted neighborhood......... but to really get so bent out of shape over that......
Try that now in 2021 and the Karen show will be far beyond that one.
HOA's are usually a group of people who thrive on the power they wield. Crabgrass over the curb? Warning letter. Trash cans visible from the street? Warning letter. Mailbox post higher (or lower) than everyone else? Warning letter. Paint your house a different color withou HOA approval? Warning letter. Water sprinkler w/hose left in yard 24/7? Warning letter. It goes a lot deeper than just outdoor antennas with these people...

That's for the birds...... Not this guy!

The house I'm now is in an HOA. We were told it was not when we were shopping and by the time the truth came out the XYL had already developed an emotional attachment. So I pay $25/yr to be told that I can't put up an antenna or any other "structures".

Yeah, I'm looking at non-HOA lots and homes in the area. Might be a few years, or I might win the lottery. OK, it will be a few years. Moving is expensive.

Yeah, there's enough we have to tolerate just out in the world we live amongst but I'm not about to be told what I can and can't do at or with my own home. No harm no foul to those in the H.O.A. communities, but different folks different strokes and I can't be subdued like that. That's the beauty of this country, freedom allows us all to have choices.

I'm not a Stepp iR fan & think a Mosley PRO-96S would look much nicer & I would leave it cranked UP unless there was Severe Weather in the area.I currently have currently have 10 antennas up & 5 of them are on my 50 ft of Rohn 25 tower & 11 feet of mast pipe. Two of those are wire antennas the rest are Yagi Antennas.

That's a bargain. Many subdivisions around SW Houston are well over $250/yr for their HOA fees. I'd love to get out of where we're at, but as long as my wife is working where she's been working (20+years), a long tedious drive each way would be a tough sell. About 30 years ago I drove 50 mi. from West of Houston, into the city, and while there wasn't an HOA, there was a city building inspector who thought he was GOD, but, I could still put up antennas wherever I wanted on the property. After 10+ years of 100mi/day round trip driving (and my own aging), it wasn't worth it any longer. I do miss having an outdoor antenna though...:(

I just don't like the idea of someone telling me what I can do on my property. Where I am, there are pristine properties and those that look like a junk yard. All good to me. As long as it doesn't spill over into my yard, unless it's something I can use, I'm good.
My brother in law lives in a community like that and couldn't put up a portable basketball backboard in the backyard and had to get permission to paint his house. Pending approval of color by the HOA. Ridiculous.

I’d rather live in a tar paper shack with a reliable hand crank water pump outside. Where a rusty tin roof will still make an excellent ground plane. I'll be the proud owner of my Moonshine Palace that's carved on the front door. Where binoculars are usually used to view animals / invaders of my property, rarely by others that can’t seem to mind their own business.
