Reclaim LSB 16

I'm still monitoring LSB 16. My ears are largely wiped out by my neighbor's night-time fluorescent exterior lighting. I haven't heard a station on frequency since before 5:00P.M. eastern.

Nice to hear that some of you were able to make contact. It was quite here in central MS on 16 LSB this afternoon. It has been raining here most of the day. It is suppose to be a sunny day tomorrow so hopefully conditions will be better.

I'm with you. It is pretty cool to know what kind of rig the guy on the other of the signal is talking to you with.

Folks have thought that I was pulling their leg when I told them I was on my Cherokee AH 100 SSB walkie talkie. A couple of nets ago I had rigged a 102" whip with a counterpoise on a tripod in my back yard after my IMAX 2000 started giving me some worrisome readings. I talked to 226 and several others a bunch times that afternoon. With the right conditions, even the most humble set up can be heard.
That's great and it is proof , we can enjoy on all kinds of gear.
I e got an emergency hand held walkie-talkie type kit in a box with an antenna. Haven't messed with it in years but several years ago I actually talk from a pickup on the hill to about 20 or 30 + - miles through the woods to a local.

I heard someone probably 15 minutes ago that would make it 4:45ish.
I had to do a couple of little things on the computer with my non-dominant arm because the other one is in a sling from shoulder replacement.
Could get to the radio.

Good morning,

This is my first post after lurking for many months.

I too had a QSO with 226 yesterday afternoon on 16LSB. The frequency is much less busy than the 30 somethings and bleedover noise from the superbowl is tolerable here.

I look forward to trying again today

Welcome Wiat 291!!! Lot's of very nice and helpful people here on the forums.
Hopefully conditions will be good and lots of contacts be made!

Well, as it turns out, I won't be on too often today. Domestic duties are a calling and I can't put them off anymore. I may be able to pop in occasionally. Maybe....

I believe Undertaker might be on and if so, he normally gets out a lot better than I do.

Yes it's always important to get the domestic duties done first, aka: the wife's list I'm guessing, then you can have Radio time later, Seriously though, have a great day today, hopefully hear from you sometime.......
