E.F. Johnson Messenger 223 User Manual and Schem.

Thanks for the docs! Just received my '223 FleaBay rescue today. Plugged in and deaf, cleaned tube sockets and it's alive! Audio output seems a bit low but tube check OK so maybe a cap...

Here are the schematics for versions A, C1, C2, D, E, and H. The version is on the paper tag on the back of the radio. It will read 223 then the letter of the version like in the pic below.

Thanks for explaining how to decipher the version number.

Radio wound up with a couple of weak tubes and the 32.750 crystal is apparently bad taking out channels 5-8. Crystal is on order from Ken's and will hopefully be here before long.

tramd - Thanks for the information on versions, accordingly my radio is a C model.

The crystal got here yesterday and I now have 23 channels! :-)

Any sharp & knowledgeable tube guys out there who could design an NPC circuit for my Johnson Messenger 223?
I'd think it'd well be worth $omething to $ay I appreciate your effort$.
