11 meter is very quiet?

Great conditions here the last couple days..... hearing and working stations from pretty much everywhere in North America, but especially strong from New England, upstate New York and the Great Lakes region. Fantastic conditions in the late afternoon to Australia, Hawaii and New Zealand, and even the Japanese superbowl has been booming in on Channel 4 AM in the early evening.

Hope things improve for those of you with poor conditions and noise!!

Well, the power just got turned on to the new house next door this morning. And holy mama -- 9+Db RFI on 11M!!

You may need to get an MFJ-1026 or similar unit. Works great to eliminate all kinds of noise.

There must have been some flares causing blackouts... maybe. I haven't been keeping up with space weather lately.

Fun. Those look huge. I expect the band will be dead in a couple days from now, but right now conditions are hanging in there. Not great, but OK.

ver II stryker 955 .usually very quiet. it rained and last night all of us had no noise in our happy lil group.
the McKinnly in my pickup was noisy as well as the pos 980 bearcat in my kenworth

I laugh because my 980 was the first radio I was able to start talking skip with. The display still works but leaves something to be desired, the menu stinks. But I have it set-up in a close room and use it to talk to when I'm testing another radio. I got the wireless mic system for it and it is rock solid on freq. That stupid beep when you change channels is a joke but the radio is the first version so not easy to eliminate. But it will live out it's life as my test radio. LOL

I sadly got early and late versions.button push on new version shuts beep off. Cant remember but myst desolder a part inside to cut the beep.unnecassery noise makers

Isn't that the truth ! I wonder what hammer head thought that one up. It's a OK radio for a base if you just want to talk the regular 40 on side band on a small budget. If you can put up with their suck menu. Set it and leave it ! LOL

I just received my second Q6 Pro yesterday and I'm done buying now. But like someone said earlier the controls on that radio are too close for big fingers !

I Checked the propagation on 10/11 Meters at 9:30 tonite. Looked good to AUS and the Far East. Went down to the shack, fired up the base and . . . NADA. I could hear a occasional roger beep punch through but nothing else. Looks like BC Coyote's receiver was rockin'.

Got my new Quad 6 PRO this week. Haven't fired it up yet, still going through the User Manual. An awful lot of info to digest. If this rig will do everything the manual says, then it's the real deal. Got a lot of honey-dos for tomorrow, but maybe get a chance to fire it up in the afternoon.
