A few days ago while experimenting with my mobile antennas as I grabbed my newest K 40 antenna the bottom magnet came unglued from the plastic housing above it. Well today I cleaned up to old glue residue and compared it to my old K 40 ( Looks like they cheapen the construction ). Anyway looks like I can get some construction adhesive and put it back together but I figure I better ask if there is any special adhesive I should be looking for or one to stay away from ?

Not sure about what kind of glue that you should use,but I think we can agree that the k40 and the Wilson 1000 that are being made now are not the same quality as the ones that I remember back in the early 90's when I first got into CB radio, etc.

Nothing is as good today. It's all about get it out the door as cheap as you can. Anyway I cleaned all the surfaces as good as I could get them and bought the highest PSI test JB Weld I could find and now I'm waiting until tomorrow so it cures well before I put it back together. After I test & adjust it for SWR if OK there is a 1/8 gap. all around the magnet to plastic and I'll fill that with sealer. I might even make a thin rubber boot for under the antenna, and test that for function. I always had good luck with the K 40 antenna.
