Yaesu FTX-1 MARS Modification

MARS mod on a Yaesu FTX-1 radio.

Proceed at your own risk.

Disconnect all power.

Remove the three black screws on the bottom speaker cover and remove the cover.

Remove the three silver screws hidden under the speaker cover.

Remove the three top black screws on the back to detach the front unit.

Separate the front unit and RF unit.

Solder jumper 1 to short it.

Reassemble.

Perform a factory reset.

That does not work. I tried on 2 FTX-1 Field unit heads and there was no change. Tested jumper 1 with a meter and they are definitely jumped. What am i missing?
