Stake Pocket ideas

Planning an install in the new Silverado. I decided again drilling a hole in the roof. Not a huge fan of magnet mounts for permanent installation. Planning on installing a front fender under the hood style mount for vhf/uhf. This leads me down the stake pocket road for a 10/11 meter antenna. My plan is to use the rear pocket. I don't want to jam an antenna directly behind my cab. Although I've never ran an antenna directly behind my cab, I can't see how this would be ideal with reflection off the cab. This led me to want to use the rear pocket. My first go to was Breedlove. I emailed them and they advised I go with the 900 or 920 model. These have the long plate that puts the mount off the edge of the bed rail. Screenshot_20250817_152750_Samsung Internet.jpg
I really want to avoid this look. I want one that sits down inside my pocket or just on top not a plate hanging off the side of the truck.
After more digging I came across exactly what I was looking for from geotools. Below is a pic of what I want. Screenshot_20250817_154950_Samsung Internet.jpgThe problem is I can't get the guy to contact me back to order?? Does anyone have any other ideas or sources for what I'm looking for?
Thanks

Was the recommendation for the 900 and 920 models due to the antenna you planned on using?

They have a 910 and 930 model on the Breedlove site that looks similar to what you are wanting.

Also a couple listed on ebay.

I believe he recommended those models because of the deep wedge design. The standard plate with the 2 catches that grab the inside of the pocket won't work from what I measured. The models you linked are the same build style as the breedlove 910 or 930. These would probably work on the front pockets but not the rear.

I have a plan to adapt a firestik mount to sit down in the rear pocket. Im going to experiment this weekend when things slow down around here. I will update if it works out.

Thanks for your input.

Blackcat- I run a sirio performer 5000 with the angled breed love mount, and have no issues with antenna performance with it in the front pocket. Contacts northwest, Southwest, Midwest and twice across the pond. Rigexpert shows good tune and set at 1:1.0. My advice....use the front mount and a lot cleaner and easier; and I don't experience any issues. Trouble said it.

Glad it works for you red. It does look cleaner. I'm not totally against using the front pocket though I think I will try the rear first and see how it works. I've got a plan and I will post my progress in this thread.
