Ran across this today. I'm in support of it. Low band propagation had always been my favorite. Tons of old radios out there. GMRS/FRS users will start chasing DX. Just wonder if it will see light of day.

Article has a pay wall, but the petition is made.

If l petition the FCC for something cool, I too could write about it behind a pay wall and have youtube videos about it with 8 ads embedded and make a lot of money on it.

California Highway Patrol still uses low band currently, 36 something to 45 something MHz, that's going to be a hurdle and I know that there is some military traffic in the low band range.
If they were T mobile with a fat wallet they would stand a better chance....
Maybe they can carve out a chunk of spectrum in there somewhere, good luck.

National Capitol Communications, LLC is not registered with the state of Virginia, their website is just a purchased domain notice, and their address (the president of the LLC that is) is in a mall.

Edit, I guess capitalization matters when typing in business names, it is there. My apologies.

I don't see it getting much traction. It would be interesting to have some access.

I scan through that band from time to time when DX is in. Lots of stuff still going on down there....... I hear military, various utilities especially in rural areas, California Hwy Patrol, and a shit ton of rural fire departments all over the U.S.
And just like 11 meters, that whole 30-50 MHz band is wall to wall spanish when South America comes in; which is fairly often.

Then there is all the walkie talkies and baby monitors and old cordless phones around 49 MHz........and that band is still used for remote control applications too.

I have a feeling this petition will go over like a lead brick with the FCC.
